The first event that brought together writers, translators, publishers and researchers for 2025 was the ceremony to announce the winners of the national literature awards for 2023.
Although the calendar marks 2025, the National Book and Reading Center has determined the best of literature published in 2023. The reason was the many streams throughout this year as well as the time the jury needed to determine the best. The best novel of the year "fati i obru" was snatched by Besnik Mustafaj, although the writer wrote two other books after this work. The best research work is declared "Albania and the desperate end of the century" by Pëllumb Xhufi.
"The best translation of the year" is given to the translator Ana Kove, who brought the Nobel laureate Gunter Grass into Albanian.
"The best volume of stories of the year" is awarded to the author Shpëtim Kelmendi for the book "Dashnia asht", while Entela Tabaku was awarded in poetry.
