Taylor Swift was asked to perform in London at the coronation of King Charles III, but she chose not to. Journalist and royal expert Omid Scobie revealed the news in his new book on the Royals titled "Endgame".
In his book, Scobie does not specify why the pop star turned down the king, but some fans noted that there were logistical problems that prevented Taylor Swift from performing in London.
King Charles' coronation concert was held on May 7 at Windsor Castle, when the singer was scheduled to perform her Eras tour in Nashville, Tennessee.
In his book, Omid Scobie also revealed that in the months leading up to the event, there were reports that many other artists, including Harry Styles, Adele, Robbie Williams and the Spice Girls, had turned down requests to perform for the British royal family.
However, popular artists Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Andrea Bocelli performed at the coronation ceremony.
This isn't the first royal invitation that Taylor Swift has decided to turn down. According to the Wall Street Journal, Meghan Markle previously asked the pop star to be a guest on her podcast, Archetypes. According to the rumor, "Meghan wrote Taylor Swift a personal letter asking her to be on the podcast." However, she "refused, through a proxy." (A2 Televizion)
