The war in the Gaza Strip is taking a terrible toll. At least 27 Palestinians have been killed after the Israeli army bombed a school in the north of the enclave, which was serving as a shelter for displaced families. Most of them were women and children. This was confirmed by the Hamas-run health ministry.
Dozens of others were injured in the attack. The Israeli army claims it bombed a terrorist hideout that served as a control center for Hamas command, but did not mention that it was a school. Earlier, Palestinian authorities reported over 100 people killed in Israeli attacks over the past 24 hours. The Tel Aviv army has expanded its map of operations in the Gaza Strip with the aim of occupying even more Palestinian land.
Israeli authorities defend themselves by claiming that they only targeted areas used by Hamas, which was planning attacks against Israeli civilians and soldiers. (A2 Televizion)
