Hospitals continue to be at the center of Israel's military operation in the Gaza Strip. After Al Shifa, Israeli tanks and troops hit the Indonesian hospital in northern Gaza, where dozens of people are reported to have been killed in airstrikes.
Gaza's health ministry says there are at least 12 casualties, including patients, staff members and displaced Palestinians.
She accused Tel Aviv of putting the thousands of people there in the circle of death through the constant targeting of the hospital.
Israel did not directly refer to the attack, but said it was continuing to strike terrorist infrastructure.
Earlier, the army published a video, which claims to show a 55-meter-long fortified tunnel under the Al Shifa hospital.
The discovery, according to Israel, indicates that hospital buildings are being used as cover for terrorist activities.
Yet another video, according to the military, shows the delivery of hostages inside Al Shifa after the October 7 attack.
"We have obtained other information that proves that the hostage soldier, Noa Marciano, was not the only one who was held in Al Shifa hospital. The footage shows that a Nepali citizen and a Thai citizen were also sent there," stated Daniel Hagari.
The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Turk, expressed his shock at what he called the terrible developments during the last 48 hours in Gaza.
He strongly condemned the attack on the Jabalia refugee camp, where a UN-run school was also hit. But even though the brutal fighting continues, there are signs that the weeks-long negotiations for the release of the hostages, mediated by Qatar and including the US, are finally making progress.
The Israeli ambassador in Washington said there is hope that a significant number of them could be released in the coming days in exchange for a short truce. (A2 Televizion)
