A man carrying a Palestinian flag alerted British authorities after climbing the Big Ben tower at the Palace of Westminster in London early this morning.
Local media reported that he was shouting “Freedom for Palestine.” A Metropolitan Police spokesman said authorities were alerted to the incident at Big Ben at 9:24 a.m.
Police officers and the fire brigade quickly arrived at the scene to bring the incident under control.
Meanwhile, footage on social media shows the man with bloody feet on a ledge several metres above the Elizabeth Tower in the Houses of Parliament. (A2 Televizion)
