Veteran anti-Islamic politician Geert Wilders is close to winning the parliamentary elections in the Netherlands.
Polls after the polls closed put Wilders' Freedom Party as the winner with 35 seats in parliament, followed by rivals from the left-wing alliance.
If this result goes all the way, it will cause a shock in Dutch politics, although Wilders will need to find allies to form the government.
No single party in the Netherlands can win enough seats in parliament to govern alone, and the other three parties have made it clear they do not want to cooperate with Wilders. (A2 Televizion)
