President Donald Trump has found time in his busy day to applaud CBS News' decision to end "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert" next May.
"I really like that Colbert was fired," Trump wrote, foreign media reports. "His talent was even lower than his ratings," he continued.
Colbert has been an early critic of Trump. CBS said his show was canceled for financial reasons, not its content, A2 CNN reports.
However, the timing of the decision has raised questions. The decision comes three days after Colbert criticized a legal settlement between Trump and CBS parent company Paramount Global.
Colbert also criticized the deal for Paramount's anticipated $8 billion merger with Skydance Media, which requires approval from a federal commission chaired by a Trump appointee. He called the deal a "huge bribe." (A2 Televizion)
