"Every day we are taking territories", Putin: Russia is getting closer

Russian President Vladimir Putin in his annual address to the nation said that Russian forces are achieving their goals on the battlefield in Ukraine. He said the fighting was complex, but every day they were retaking territory.

"I must say that the situation is changing dramatically. You know this very well, I just want to confirm it. The movement is taking place every day along the entire front line. And as I already said, we are not talking about the advance of 100, 200, or 300 meters, our fighters are taking and recapturing territories with square kilometers, I want to emphasize, we are taking territories every day. Combat operations are a complex thing, and that's why reason is difficult and meaningless to guess what is ahead. This is exactly what is happening. And we are going, towards the achievement of our primary tasks, which we described at the beginning of the "military special operation".

Putin also announced the impossibility of destroying the Oreshnik hypersonic missile, for which he challenged the West by asking them to test it in Ukraine.

"There is no chance of shooting down these missiles. If the Western experts you mentioned think that Oreshnik can be shot down, we propose to those in the West and in the US, who are paid for their analysis, to conduct some kind of technological experiment, a duel high-tech of the XXI century, let them name any facility, say, in Kiev, concentrate all their air and missile defense forces there, and we will hit it with Oreshnik and You'll see what happens. Are we ready for such an experiment?"

Answering questions from reporters, Putin said Russia has the right to use nuclear weapons when countries threaten Moscow. (A2 Televizion)
