There is no end to the problems faced by the former president of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro, who is trying to get his passport back, as he wants at all costs to be part of the ceremony for the inauguration of the US President-elect, Donald Trump.
As an associate of Jair Bolsonaro revealed today, Donald Trump has invited him to the inauguration ceremony that will take place on January 20, 2025, however important legal issues are pending regarding the passport of the former leader of Brazil.
Bolsonaro surrendered his passport to Brazilian authorities following a court order because he is under investigation for an attempted coup in 2023.
He is banned from holding any political office in Brazil until 2030 and faces criminal charges for an alleged coup attempt, which he denies.
By order of a Brazilian Supreme Court judge, he surrendered his passport in February 2024.
So, the invitation to Trump's inauguration was confirmed by Bolsonaro in a post on his account on the 'X' platform and by his adviser, Fabio Weingarten, who told Reuters that the former president wants to be on January 20 in Washington.
In his post on X, Bolsonaro said he felt "honoured to have received an invitation". He also said that lawyer Paulo Bueno had asked Supreme Court Judge Alexandre de Moraes to return his passport for travel. (A2 Televizion)
