Kiev drones kill the Russian actress and journalist, Putin: We are ready to end the tragedy, but Ukraine does not want talks

A correspondent for Russian state television, covering the war in Ukraine, was killed after being hit by shrapnel from a drone that Russian media said was launched by Ukrainian forces in the Moscow-controlled southeast.

According to Russian investigators, Kiev troops targeted a group of journalists in the Zaporizhzhya region on Wednesday with shells and a drone.

Boris Maksudov, of Rossiia 24, was reportedly seriously injured and doctors could not save him. Earlier, a Russian actress was reported to have been killed in a Ukrainian attack while performing for Moscow troops in an area controlled by them in eastern Ukraine.

The Russian theater, where 40-year-old Polina Menshikh worked, announced that she was killed along with 25 soldiers while performing on stage in the Donbass region.

Although details of the incident could not be independently verified, military officials from both sides confirmed that a Ukrainian Himars missile attack had taken place in the area.

Thus, the Russian military targeted infrastructure facilities in the southern regions of Ukraine, Dnipropetrovsk and Kherson, causing significant damage.

On the eve of winter, Moscow has returned to the strategy of striking the energy infrastructure, in a signal that the offensive in the coming months will become wilder.

During his speech at the extraordinary G20 summit, held online, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Moscow was ready for talks to end the tragedy of the war, but blamed Kiev for a lack of will.  (A2 Televizion)
