Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in an interview with Russian media that Moscow will never accept the deployment of foreign troops on Ukrainian territory, writes A2 CNN. Lavrov added that Moscow will avoid any compromise that would affect Russian citizens in territories inside Ukraine but already under Russian military control.
"Europe and Great Britain certainly want (the war in Ukraine) to continue. The way they received Zelenskiy in London after the scandal in Washington is an indication that they want to raise the stakes and they are preparing something to put pressure on the Donald Trump administration for aggressive action against Russia. I am most surprised by this obsession of the peacekeepers. President Macron says, let's stop it," Lavrov said.
“Within a month, peacekeepers will be deployed, then we will see what to do next. The presence of troops from NATO countries under any flag, on Ukrainian soil is the same threat (as NATO expansion). We do not accept it under any conditions. No one is talking to us. They continue to say nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine, but do everything about Russia without Russia. The second thing is the rights and fate of the people who live not only in the liberated territories, but in the territories under the control of the regime. They also, most of them, speak Russian. They are brought up as part of Russian culture and want their children to know Russian and learn Russian.” (A2 Televizion)
