Ukraine's Air Force says one of its F-16 fighter jet pilots broke a world record last month, shooting down six Russian missiles during a single deployment.
According to foreign media citing the Ukrainian FA, the pilot shot down the cruise missiles during a December 13 Russian airstrike that included more than 200 missiles and drones.
The announcement also states that there was "100% confirmation" that the feat was carried out "for the first time in history in anti-aircraft combat".
The release also said the unidentified pilot received "applause and cheers" when he returned to the ground and that US officials "were surprised" by the news.
We recall that thousands of people, civilians and soldiers, have lost their lives in the war in Ukraine since February 2022, when Russia launched unjustified aggression against its western neighbor. (A2 Televizion)
