Russian forces attacked Odessa at night, Putin speaks for the first time about

Russian President Vladimir Putin has said for the first time in years that he is open to bilateral talks with Ukraine, after previously demanding that Volodymyr Zelenskyy be replaced before that could happen. Speaking on Russian state television, Putin said: “We have always said this, that we have a positive attitude towards any peace initiative. We hope that the representatives of the Kiev regime feel the same way.”

His comments followed Russian forces launching a massive drone strike overnight on the Ukrainian Black Sea port city of Odessa, which, according to local officials, injured three people and damaged many residential buildings.

"The enemy targeted a residential area in a densely populated district of Odessa ," Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov wrote in a post on Telegram.

Putin's change in rhetoric on ceasefire talks came as representatives from Ukraine, the UK, France and the US are set to meet in London tomorrow to discuss a possible ceasefire agreement.

Zelenskyy, under pressure from Washington to agree to some kind of deal or withdraw potential support, said the talks in London "have one main task: to push for an unconditional ceasefire. This should be the starting point." (A2 Televizion)
