At least one person was killed and 12 others were injured by the missile attack that Russia carried out on the capital of Ukraine, Kiev, during the early hours of this morning. The news was confirmed by the Military Administration of the City of Kyiv through a post on Telegram, writes CNN. Five of the injured were hospitalized, while the others received help at the scene.
The attack occurred around 7:00 a.m., when Russia fired five ballistic missiles toward Kiev. According to the Ukrainian Air Force Command, all missiles were destroyed by Ukrainian air defenses. Also, 40 drones were shot down and another 20 missed their targets. However, rocket debris caused damage to the city center.
In addition to the Albanian embassy, those of Argentina, Palestine, North Macedonia, Portugal and Montenegro were also damaged, the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine confirmed.
On the other hand, Russia's Ministry of Defense stated that the attack was a response to a Ukrainian strike on a chemical plant in Rostov, which used US ATACMS missiles.
