"We are not afraid." These are the first words in the first reaction after the start of the trade war, of Chinese Leader Xi Jinping.
"There are no winners in a trade war and moving against the world will only lead to self-isolation," the Chinese leader said in a meeting he held with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez.
"For 70 years, China's development has been based on self-confidence and hard work, and it is not afraid of unfair pressure," Xi Jinping added.
"Regardless of how external developments change, China will remain confident, focused and concentrated in managing its own affairs," the Chinese leader concluded.
