Chancellor Scholz calls Trump again

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has called the future US President Donald Trump again. "At the center of the talks were the challenges of the security policy in Europe", pointed out the government spokesman, Steffen Hebestreit after this call. During the conversation, Scholz again told Trump that Germany will continue to support Ukraine as long as it is necessary for its defense against the aggressive war from Russia. Trump and Scholz, according to the spokesman, are of the same opinion, that "the Russian war against Ukraine is taking too long and that it is important that it is possible to achieve a sustainable, fair and correct peace as soon as possible".

In the framework of the EU summit, Scholz held talks in Brussels with the most important European allies regarding the policy for Ukraine. Likewise, the EU Commissioner for Foreign Policy, Kaja Kallas, warned that no agreement should be reached by bypassing Ukraine.

Scholz also called Trump on November 11 and expressed optimism about cooperation with the future US administration regarding the Ukraine issue./DW (A2 Televizion)
