A senior commander of the Ukrainian army announced that Ukraine has developed a laser weapon that can shoot down Russian planes.
The weapon, called Tryzub (Trident), is thought to be similar to a UK prototype, after the two countries exchanged information about it earlier this year.
Colonel Vadym Sukharevskyi, commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces of Ukraine said that the advanced laser system can shoot down aircraft at distances of more than 2 km.
He noted that Ukraine was the 5th country to possess a high-powered laser weapon, which uses an intense beam of light on its target. (A2 Televizion)
