10 days left for agreement with Ukraine, Russia responds to Trump: We have

The Kremlin said on Wednesday that it continues to monitor US President Donald Trump's statements regarding sanctions against Moscow, but Russia had gained immunity from such measures thanks to long experience.

Trump said on Tuesday that the US would begin imposing tariffs and other measures on Russia within 10 days if Moscow did not show progress towards ending its more than three-year war in Ukraine.

"We have been living under a large number of sanctions for quite a long time, our economy operates under a large number of restrictions. Therefore, of course, we have already developed some immunity in this regard and continue to note all the statements coming from President Trump, from other international representatives on this issue," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Wednesday that he had approved the main principles for large-scale arms deals with the US.

"These are large-scale agreements, which I discussed with President Trump, and I very much hope that we will be able to implement all of them ," Zelenskyy said in his video address to the nation in the evening, adding that this would strengthen both countries without giving specific details.

Russian missile and drone strikes on Kiev on Thursday killed six people, including a six-year-old boy, the Ukrainian capital's military administration said. More than 40 people were injured, government officials said, with damage caused to a hospital's children's ward, as well as a school and kindergarten.

The strikes targeted at least 10 locations around Kiev, the military administration said on Telegram. Ukraine's top diplomat called for "maximum pressure" on Russia after the attacks.

Meanwhile, Ukraine's internal security agency has arrested an air force officer on charges of spying for Russia by revealing the locations of prized F-16 and Mirage 2000 fighter jets, officials said Wednesday. The unidentified officer, a flight instructor with the rank of major, is accused of helping Russia carry out air strikes by providing coordinates and suggesting attack tactics, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) said in a statement.

More than 200 Kremlin critics, including former political prisoners, expressed anger on Wednesday at the visit of a senior Moscow delegation to Switzerland, accusing Europe of harboring "war criminals" despite its invasion of Ukraine. (A2 Televizion)
