A mother of two children died after being struck by lightning. The event took place at Boquilla Beach in Cartagena, Colombia. The victim has been identified as Froilanis Maireth Rivas Román, who fell to the ground and died on the spot.
The entire sad moment was recorded by an amateur camera of a witness on the beach.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the odds of someone being struck by lightning are one in a million, yet nearly 90% of victims survive. In Colombia, deaths from lightning due to weather conditions are numerous.
