The Mufti of Kosovo, Naim Tërnava, has congratulated believers on the Feast of Eid al-Adha, calling for more kindness among them.
In his traditional greeting on the eve of the Eid al-Fitr, Tërnava said that this holiday commemorates the sacrifice of the prophet Ibrahim, "who was willing to sacrifice his most beloved for the sake of the Almighty God, and who taught us that true faith knows no limits or fear of trials, but finds its highest meaning precisely in surrender to the divine will of God."
"On this day, the hearts of believers are filled with gratitude and devotion, while their hands are extended in help and generosity, because this celebration is an act that embodies the spirit of closeness to God and responsibility towards society," he said.
Mufti Tërnava said that Eid al-Adha is a religious holiday, but it also carries deep social and patriotic messages.
"The Eid holiday is not limited to worship, but it contributes to strengthening the values that build society and strengthen the homeland," he said.
The holiday of Eid al-Adha is characterized by the slaughter of a ram and the performance of the pilgrimage.
"Today, when millions of believers are in the holy land of Mecca and where they will spend this day on the plain of Arafat, and among them are pilgrims from Kosovo, who are experiencing the pilgrimage - the journey of life - with their prayers addressed to the creator for forgiveness of mistakes, health and well-being for their families, for our people and security for our homeland," said Tërnava.
The Hajj began on June 4 and Muslim believers will perform religious rites in Mecca until June 8. This year, more than 1.5 million pilgrims are participating in Islam's most important ritual./ REL (A2 Televizion)
