The celebration of Republika Srpska Day, declared unconstitutional by the country's courts, has prompted a flurry of reactions, both inside and outside of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The international community, including the US embassy, has called for an investigation into any violations of the law, reports A2 CNN.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina sent a letter of protest to Belgrade, due to the arrival of officials from this country to mark the Day of the Serbian Republic.

The reaction of Serbia was not long in coming, which also through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses its surprise at such an action, since, as it says, Sarajevo has welcomed Prime Minister Albin Kurti, in disregard of Serbia's position, A2 CNN reports.

"It is incredible and deeply disturbing that the authorities in Sarajevo see fit to send protest notes to Serbia, while at the same time officially welcoming Albin Kurti, whose policies and actions clearly violate Serbia's sovereignty and territorial integrity. This act represents a flagrant disregard for Serbia's position on the Kosovo issue, which is strongly based on international law and is supported by Resolution 1244 of the United Nations Security Council," said the statement of the Serbian Foreign Ministry, A2 CNN reports . .

Belgrade continues, saying that Kurt's reception in Sarajevo is not only an insult to Serbia, but also a dangerous precedent that undermines regional stability and mutual respect.  (A2 Televizion)
