Kosovo's political future remains uncertain after the regular vote count for Sunday's general elections. Albin Kurti's Vetëvendosje party is leading with 40.83 percent of the vote, followed by PDK with 22.5 percent, LDK with 17.59 percent and AAK with 7.46 percent. But excluding diaspora and conditional votes, the counting of which has not yet been completed, Vetëvendosje managed to secure only 47 mandates out of the 61 it needs to form a government.

Having ruled out the possibility of a coalition with opposition parties, Vetëvendosje has pinned its hopes on diaspora votes, from which it could secure between 2 and 4 mandates, in the most optimistic scenario for Kurti.

Around 105,000 voters registered to vote outside Kosovo, and over 84,500 chose to exercise this right. Earlier, PDK's prime ministerial candidate, Bedri Hamza, closed the door on a possibility of cooperation with Vetëvendosje, while saying that the opposition could form the government.

Also, AAK leader Ramush Haradinaj expressed his willingness to cooperate with other opposition parties to form a government against Kurti.

Analysts predict that the result predicts compromises and could lead to an unstable government. Meanwhile, the Central Election Commission in Kosovo announced that the process of counting the votes of candidates for deputies began on Tuesday in municipal counting centers.

Spokesperson Valmir Elezi stated that after the completion of these procedures, namely the counting of votes outside Kosovo, conditional votes, persons with special needs and other aspects stipulated by the election law, the CEC will announce the final results for political entities and candidates for deputies.

Meanwhile, the Serbian List, which was competing with 5 other parties from the Serbian community for the 10 seats guaranteed for this community, claims to have won all ten seats, although this still remains unclear.  (A2 Televizion)
