Outflow at the Qafë Thanë border crossing point. All this, according to the authorities of the station at this border point, has come about because Albanians from North Macedonia and beyond, after spending the summer holiday in Elbasan, the capital, are returning to their cities of residence.
To cope with the influx, both police stations are working with four exit counters for small vehicles, and one lane has been left for heavy vehicles.
To avoid long lines, the two border police forces have agreed to work with an expedited procedure for those citizens who have documents from the neighboring country.
Over the last 24 hours, more than 8,500 citizens have entered and exited through this border crossing. (A2 Televizion)
