The Special Court has called the behavior of the State Police unprecedented in the case of the protest organized by supporters of the Mayor, Erion Veliaj, in front of its building, while a session to assess security measures was taking place inside.
"There has been no reaction on its part to cooperate with the Guard of the Republic of Albania, showing an inexplicable indifference in pursuing and preventing this situation which could seriously endanger the lives and health of judges and administrative personnel. This institutional apathy undoubtedly constitutes a serious violation of the independence of the judiciary. The Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime has considered this unprecedented behavior of the State Police, unacceptable and contrary to the law," a reaction from the Special Court states.
