The Prosecutor's Office of Fier has seized the assets of an Albanian couple, who were caught a while ago trafficking over 580 kg of cocaine in Greece.
It is about Arjan and Lutmira Xhafaj, who are under arrest in Greece. A plot of land, a building and a "Golf" car were seized.

The Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Fier has mainly registered criminal proceedings no. 1523, dated 02.11.2023, for the criminal offense of "Cleaning the products of a criminal offense or criminal activity", provided for by Article 287 of the Criminal Code.
This criminal proceeding has been started on the basis of the information published in the media and the verifications carried out, according to which information is announced that the citizens A. Xh. and L. Xh., residing in Fier, have been arrested in Greece for the seizure of 585 kg and 208 grams of the narcotic substance "cocaine" and are suspected of having laundered the proceeds of this criminal activity in our country.
From the investigative actions carried out dynamically in cooperation with the judicial police officers of the services of the Fier Local Police Directorate, the exchange of information with other law-enforcement bodies, as well as the analysis and cross-checking of administered data, the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance Fier requested the Court to seize assets suspected to be derived from the criminal activity of citizens AX and L.Xh, as follows:
- Real estate no. 24/198, vol. 30, p. 230, "plot" type with an area of 300 m2 and a building area of 110.70 m2, located in Vlora;
- Monetary amount 40,000 Euros;
- "Volswagen" brand vehicle, "Golf" model, year of production 2010.
How did DEA agents get on the drug trail?
DEA agents in Athens and anti-drug prosecutors in Thessaloniki received information about the organization importing drugs from Latin America, possibly Ecuador, and preparing to plant them in a house east of Thessaloniki.
The police immediately located the apartment and kept the family under surveillance. On the afternoon of September 28 at 15:25 two cars parked in the courtyard of the detached house in Neios Epivates. About two hours later, at 5:40 p.m., the 50-year-old's two nieces and their 33-year-old accomplice approached the vehicles and began filling them with blue IKEA bags.
During the loading, both the 50-year-old man and his wife stood in the backyard supervising the process. After loading the drugs, the cars left in the direction of Thessaloniki. At this moment, the police intervened and made the arrest.
Some of the packages had the Nazi symbol and according to anti-drug officials it relates to the practice followed by Latin American cartels of using the logos to identify the quantities of cocaine they produce in their laboratories.
In court, the arrested said that they were only transporters and "were carrying out an order", while the 50-year-old said that he would receive 50,000 euros for the transfer of drugs. On the other hand, her wife has denied being involved in this traffic. (A2 Televizion)
