Fier police have arrested two citizens suspected of committing arson in the areas of Divjaka and Mallakastra.
In Divjaka, 65-year-old KA, a resident of the village of Korije, was arrested after he started a fire to burn waste on rented land, causing the burning of 170 olive tree roots owned by another citizen.
In Mallakastër, 41-year-old PJ, a resident of the village of Belishovo, was arrested after he lit a fire to clear brambles on his land, but the flames got out of control and burned an area of bushes.
The materials were referred to the Fier Prosecutor's Office for further action.
The Fier Police urge citizens not to start fires, as they will be punished according to the law. Any case of arson or illegality can be reported to the number 112, with guarantees of anonymity and immediate response. (A2 Televizion)
