The Vlora police seem to have tracked down the perpetrator of the murder of 58-year-old Renato Hoxhaj a few days ago in the coastal city. As a result of the investigations carried out, the police have detained a person suspected of having collaborated in this murder. This is citizen Erlis Mehmeti, who, according to police sources, is suspected of having made his vehicle available to the killers.
In an attempt to hide the identity of the suspects, another pair of stolen license plates were placed on Mehmet's vehicle. At the time of the arrest, the police also seized Mehmet's mobile phone, which is suspected of being used to communicate with the alleged perpetrators.
Meanwhile, police sources indicate that they also have a suspect in the murder of Renato Hoxhaj, but who is suspected of having fled to Greece after the crime.
Although there is still no official lead declared, sources close to the investigation group state that the motives for the execution of the 58-year-old are related to previous criminal events in the city of Vlora, where the deceased is suspected of having played the role of informant between rival criminal groups.
And for this reason, suspicions are that his murder may have been ordered from abroad. However, the arrest of one of the suspected accomplices is expected to further strengthen the leads that seem to be leading to the unraveling of this murder, which at first seemed to have been committed without leaving a trace.
