In the court hearing for the murder of Santiago Malko, Muhamet Duka, the father of the accused Leonard Duka, testified. Called by the defense, he stated that he had no personal acquaintance with the victim or those involved in the incident and that he was not aware of any conflict between his sons and the aforementioned persons. He emphasized that he was busy with his own business and was not involved in his son's social life or activities.

Duka: I don't know him and I haven't had any conflict. As far as I know, my sons haven't had any conflict either. To my knowledge, I don't know if they had any problems with Ervis Martinaj, I don't know him.
Prosecutor: Aleksandër Maxhaku, do you know him?
Duka: He is my nephew, my sister's son, we call him Leksi, Aleks, it depends. I haven't met him for many years, almost 6 years, I don't know where he is. I know Dritan Again, he is from our country; one of our great-granddaughters has a husband. We have ours to some extent, he is not a stranger. I have seen Dritan, my sons like the boys who hang out. I have seen Oltion Lokë, I know him from the neighborhood. He used to live in Shëngjergj. They called him Olti for short, I don't know which of the boys he hung out with. I have heard Fatmir Dogja on TV. I have heard Ilir Selmani on TV, but I don't know him as a person. I don't know Blendi Teta, I have heard him in the media.
I didn't get to know the boys' company. I was involved in trade, with my own business, I had my own place in Fresku. My wife and I worked. Now I'm retired. Leonard had his own affairs, with his business, with these games of chance. I don't know who he collaborated with, I didn't interfere in his affairs, they are adults.
I live with my wife, they lived only with each other. They rented, I never went to them, I lived in Fresk, they came to us. I helped them when they were little, when they grew up, they started their own lives. They were quiet, no one knocked on my door. I don't know anything about their company. No one stopped me on the street in any way. I only have 2 sons, I don't know of any case where they were injured. Never in my life has anyone said a mean thing to me. Nor has anyone hit me, ever.
Prosecutor: Are you aware of a reconciliation between some boys with the surname Mumajesi?
Duka: I've heard it as a surname, I've seen Revelino Mumajesi as a neighborhood boy. I know that the boy paid taxes to the state, he was regular. I've met him very rarely. I've heard of Ervis Martinaj, I don't know him, I've never seen him, I've heard of him in the media. I've also heard the name Santiago Malko in the media.

How was Santiago Malko killed?
Leonard Duka is accused of being one of the perpetrators of the murder of Santiago Malko in 2019. He was arrested in February 2024 in Belgium and extradited to our country in August of that same year.
Santiago Malko, a former employee of the Tirana Police, was killed on the evening of August 27, 2019, in a well-organized assassination. The incident occurred in the Porcelani area on “Xhanfize Keko” street when 26-year-old Malko’s car was shot at with a volley from another moving car.
Santiago Malko was a well-known name to the authorities. In 2016, he was an employee of the General Patrol of the Tirana Police, while the suspicions of his execution were for revenge. This is because Malko was thought to be involved in a criminal incident that occurred in the city of Durrës.
Blendi Teta was sentenced to 25 years in prison for the assassination, while Leonard's brother, Erlis Duka, Oltian Loga, Fatmir Hyseni, Dritan Agaj, Aleksandër Maxhaku and Xhoni Nica are also wanted.
