Socialist Party MP Damian Gjiknuri said that there are over 130,000 Albanian citizens who have registered as voters to vote abroad.
Gjiknuri emphasized from the Parliament podium that this is an impressive figure, which in relation to the population size has not been achieved in almost any country in Europe.
"There are over 130 thousand citizens who have registered on the electoral rolls as voters who will vote from abroad. If this trend continues, it is an impressive value, which even other European countries have not achieved. The political forces that have encouraged citizens to register in the diaspora also deserve congratulations. With this draft law, every candidate for MP will have their own minutes at their disposal," declared Gjiknuri, writes A2.
He added that party campaign funds will also be increased: "We know that campaign expenses are high. That is why more campaign funds will be provided. The funds should be transparent. It seems absurd to me that someone who has no interest in even getting an Albanian document should vote. He has no interest in getting a document, let alone voting. But let the Regulatory Commission, which is above political parties, find a solution." (A2 Televizion)
