Prime Minister Edi Rama, in a Facebook post, called on businesses to vacate the public spaces they have occupied in cities.
"I call on all those who have misunderstood the meaning of common and private property. Here I am referring to the builders of apartment buildings, who after building the buildings, have continued to treat the surrounding property as private property. It is not private, that area belongs to the community of residents in that building. I call on those who own such assets, from the beams they place for parking to collect money from residents, to remove the beams and obstacles themselves; I call on those who have opened tents in bars to dismantle them themselves because they will face fines and criminal prosecution for environmental crimes and occupation and destruction of public property," declared Rama, writes A2.
"In these two weeks, all Socialist Party deputies must have inventories of all areas in these cities, with all the messes that have blackened the lives of the residents in these cities. Entire territories have been turned into "land of the living" unjustly, therefore in the second two weeks of July we will continue with the municipal inspectorates and police to clean up our common house, like housewives when they do the general cleaning of the month," Rama added.
