Bizi passed away at the age of 79.
Who was Sabah Bizi?
He was born in Shkodra on January 26, 1948. Having his house near the stadium there, he quickly fell in love with football.
The years passed and along with him his desire to engage in this magical sport that then became the passion of his life.
He would soon become part of Vllaznia's chain teams with the well-known coach Xhelal Juka.
He played very little with this team because he joined the Vllaznia first team.
Since 1965, he was active in all the matches of the Republic Cup, and at the end of this activity, Vllaznia was declared its winner and Sabah Bizi left his mark on this success of the Shkodran team.
From that moment on, he never missed a moment on the green fields until the age of 34 when he retired from football, precisely in 1982.
For three years in a row, from 1965 to 1968, he was an undisputed member of the first team of "Vllaznia", where for three years he was also the winner of the "5 best athletes of the year" poll.
The year 1968 was the year when the Partizan team and our football in its entirety was facing one of the giants of European and world football, Italian football and one of the most elite teams, which was Torino.
The Partizan team receives further reinforcements on the eve of this match.
One of them would be Sabah Bizi as well as Ramazan Rragami from Shkodra and Teodor Vaso from Skënderbeu. These had just completed their military service at this club. From this moment Bizi remained with the Partizan team for nearly three seasons.
From 1968 to 1971, he remained part of this team, simultaneously performing military service, winning two championship titles and a Republic Cup.
He returned to Vllaznia in 1971 and would play with it until 1982 when he would end his sports career.
During these years, it would be declared champion three more times, in the 1971-72, 1973-74 and 1977-78 seasons.
At the same time, he would win three more Republic Cups, precisely in the 1971-72, 1978-79 and 1980-1981 seasons.
During his career, Sabah Bizi has been one of the main figures of the Albanian national team, as everyone remembers the 1967 match with Germany (0-0) and his duel with the great Beckenbauer, even though he was only 19 years old.
But Bizi considers his best match with the national team to be the one against Poland, a match that ended in a 1-1 draw.
After leaving football, Sabah Bizi would continue to be close to this sport as he initially managed the Veleçik i Koplik team.
He then briefly coached Vllaznia, where he later held the position of club secretary, while also managing to work for many years as a youth coach. (A2 Televizion)
