Allowing opponents to score has never been a smart move for goalkeepers in football, but in the case of Cassio Ramos, who defends the Corinthians square, it has turned out to be the opposite.
The eccentric goalkeeper went viral with his decision to allow an opposition free-kick to end up in the goal, a decision that seemed strange at first but turned out to be genius.
Ramos has grabbed the headlines for his move in last Thursday's challenge as his side drew with Atletico Mineiro in Brazil's Serie A.

With the game tied at 1-1 with 15 minutes to go, Mineiro took a free kick in the Corinthians half and the ball went straight to the goal.
Cassio looked determined to receive the ball, but at the last second he let it go into his goal.
This move makes Cassio the smartest goalkeeper in the world, as the keeper knew it was an indirect free kick and no one else had touched the ball but the player who hit it. (A2 Televizion)
