Albania and Kosovo have only a 5 percent chance of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup as winners of their qualifying groups. This is the verdict of the specialized website "football meets data", which calculates the performance and results of national teams in the international arena.
The national team has the best chance of finishing third in Group K, behind England and Serbia, with a 63 percent chance, leaving behind Latvia and Andorra. The chances of second place, which translates into a play-off spot, are 24 percent.
England, as the top seed and with a strong field of big names, is considered the favourite to win the group with a 71 percent chance. This would secure them a direct ticket to the event in North America.
Kosovo, on the other hand, seems to have minimal hopes of doing anything in Group B, where they will face Switzerland, Sweden and Slovenia.
With a 61 percent chance, the "Dardans" will close the last qualifiers in the group of four teams, while the chances for third place are estimated at 23 percent. The statistics have spoken their word, but fortunately football is not an exact science. This means that dreams and hopes do not fade until the last moment. (A2 Televizion)
