Serbian media forgets Belgrade's shame and unleashes fantasy: Albanian

"Albanian hooligans showed no mercy." This is the title of the Serbian media outlet "Pink" reporting on the match between Albania and Serbia in Tirana, which ended in a 0-0 draw. The match was part of the World Cup qualifiers, but it represented more than just a sporting challenge - for many, a test of nerves, professionalism and arbitrary decision-making.

According to Serbian media reports, the atmosphere in Tirana was heated and at times out of control. Serbian players were hit with objects five times by home fans, leading to repeated interruptions of the match. Serbian media described the behavior of the Albanian fans as “horrible” and harshly criticized the referee for not taking strict measures.

"According to all UEFA criteria, the referee should have emptied the stands or permanently stopped the match," writes one of the leading Serbian portals, adding that if the event had happened in Belgrade, "it would have been impossible for the match to continue."

Although there were several episodes of throwing objects on the field, the behavior of the Albanian fans does not compare to that of the Serbian hooligans in the infamous match 11 years ago, where fans entered the field and hit our national team players. (A2 Televizion)
