Surprise in the Champions League Play Off phase. Milan was surprised by Feyenoord after being narrowly defeated in the first leg at “De Kuip” in Rotterdam.
A quick goal by Igor Paixão in the 3rd minute decided the fate of the match. Milan were completely clueless and although former Feyenoord player Santiago Gimenez and João Félix were on the field from the very first minute, none of them could break the iron defense of the home team.
The Dutch dominated throughout the first half and even had the opportunity to double the score, but only the crossbar denied them. Even in the second half, nothing changed and everything ended with the score 0-1. The return match will be played at "San Siro" on February 18.
Bayern, on the other hand, did the job, winning 2-1 against Celtic. The home team had the ball in the net after 40 seconds of play but the goal was disallowed for offside. This made the Bavarians react quickly and in the 45th minute Olise scored and closed the first half with the score 1-0.
In the second half, things were much easier for the Germans, who took control of the match. Harry Kane doubled the lead from a corner and cancelled out Maeda's goal in the 79th minute.
The match remains open at the Allianz Arena, where a difficult challenge awaits Celtic in a week.
Earlier, Atalanta were defeated 1-2 by Belgians Club Brugge and now qualification will be decided on February 18 in Bergamo while Benfica took a step further by winning 1-0 in Monaco. (A2 Televizion)
