Roma challenges Porto to defend Italy's honour

After disappointments in the Champions League, with the eliminations of Milan, Juventus and Atalanta, it is Roma's turn to defend Italy's honour in the Europa League. The red and yellows challenge Porto at the Olimpico, after a 1-1 draw in the first leg of the play-offs.

Ranieri's team will seek qualification to the 1/8, where Lazio is currently. The capital city has only one result available, to give away the hypothesis of a European derby with the city rivals: victory is the only thing that counts.

Despite the controversy over the refereeing in the first leg, only these 90 minutes of the return leg are now valid for Roma. Cristante's absences after the red card in "do Dragão" and Saelemaekers' suspension with cards have weight, but they cannot serve as an excuse, writes A2 CNN.

The good news is the return of some important names, from Hummels to Angeliño, to reach Dybala, who has recovered from the injury in the first match. Among those who will play is Mancini.

In the other matches, Galatasaray will face the difficult task of overturning a 4-1 first-leg defeat to AZ Alkmaar, while Fenerbahçe must defend a 3-0 advantage in the away match against Anderlecht. Sociedad and Ferencvaros will also try to defend their one-goal wins from their first legs. (A2 Televizion)
