Real Madrid legend Sergio Ramos looks set to embark on a new adventure after six months without a team after his contract with Sevilla expired.
The Spanish defender's career, now at the age of 38, will most likely continue in Mexico.
Recently, it was reported that Boca Juniors approached him about a transfer, but talks failed. Ramos is already thought to have reached an agreement with Rayados de Monterrey in Mexico.
According to El Chiringuito, the transfer is in the final stages, with the final details of the deal being worked out. Ramos will wear the number 93 shirt, a tribute to Real Madrid and his 93rd-minute goal in the 2014 Champions League final against Atlético, which led to Los Blancos winning in extra time for the club's 10th trophy.
The night before, the Mexican club's coach, former Argentine defender Martin Demichelis, told Mundo Deportivo that he was excited about the possibility of signing a player like Ramos.
"We need to strengthen our defense with a big player to help us, because sometimes opponents score with minimal details. Can you imagine what Sergio Ramos would be for the Mexican League? I hope that happens," Demichelis said. (A2 Televizion)
