"The last dance", Toni Kroos ready to return to the pitch

Seven months after hanging up his boots, Germany and Real Madrid legend Toni Kroos is ready to return to the pitch.

Kroos is rumoured to be the newest addition to the 'Icon League'. The tournament consists of seven teams of five players, who play against each other in matches lasting 30 minutes per half.

All regular season matches take place at the Castello in Dusseldorf, while the new season is scheduled to start on March 10 and will last 13 days.

Alongside Kroos, many football stars will take part in the Icon League, including French legend Frank Ribery, Ice Hockey icon Leon Draisaitl, commentator Wolff Fuss and Real Madrid duo Antonio Rudiger and David Alaba.

The league announced Kroos' participation in the tournament with an Instagram post showing the former midfielder staring at his legendary Adidas boots. "One more dance," the caption read. (A2 Televizion)
