Failure to comply with contracts comes with punitive measures, the harshest of which is the blocking of the market. This is the new reality that Albanian clubs are facing. Tirana, Dinamo and Skënderbeu are the three teams that "are prohibited from registering new players for three periods of the market".
The decision was taken by the Ethics and Discipline Commission, after they "failed to execute the decisions given by the Conflict Resolution Chamber".
In short, the three clubs have not paid the wages owed to former players or former officials. In total, the blocking period is one and a half calendar years. It starts in the winter market in January 2024, the summer market in June 2024 and continues with the winter market in January 2025.
Tirana's new acquisitions are blocked due to outstanding payments to two former midfielders Asion Daja and Edon Hasani. Dinamo has not paid the dues for the former sports director, Arbi Laçi, while Skënderbeu has arrears due to the former football player Davey Bregu.
Penalties for missing payments or settlement of obligations after lost trials are a common practice in the world, but until now, no direct action had been taken against the clubs of Superiore by the bodies of the Football Federation.
