A ballistic missile suspected to be part of Iran's airstrikes was detected in northern Israel on Wednesday. Since Friday, Iran has fired about 400 missiles at Israel, about 40 of which have passed through air defenses, killing 24 people, all civilians, according to Israeli authorities, Reuters reports, A2 CNN reports.
The Israeli military said 50 Israeli jets struck about 20 targets in Tehran overnight, including facilities that produce raw materials, components and missile building systems. The military urged Iranians to leave parts of the capital for their safety during the strikes.
Iranian officials have reported at least 224 deaths from Israeli strikes, mostly civilians, although that toll has not been updated for several days.
This is the first time that a significant number of missiles launched from Iran have penetrated air defenses, killing Israelis in their homes. (A2 Televizion)
