Surreal scenes have been recorded on a Delta Airlines plane, where passengers and crew were confronted by two birds that had entered the cabin, leading to a delay in takeoff.
The unusual incident occurred last Saturday evening at Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport, shortly before the scheduled takeoff of Flight 2348 bound for Wisconsin.
One of the passengers on the flight, Tom Ko, recorded the chaos as a pigeon flew through the crowded cabin. The video shows a man lifting his jacket in an attempt to stop the pigeon, which eventually falls to the ground. At the same time, other passengers scream and duck for cover.
As strange as it may seem, the bird caught on video was the second to invade Flight 2348 in a matter of minutes. Shortly before, another pigeon had escaped from the cabin, with the help of airport employees handling luggage.
After catching the second bird, the pilot informed the control tower that he was turning back because of a pigeon.
A Delta spokesman said the flight with 119 passengers and five crew members was ultimately delayed by 56 minutes.
