From colors to decorations, from tradition to design, a good portion of holiday memories shared with friends and family are created around the Christmas and New Year table. For this reason, it is good to pay special attention to the Christmas holiday. But how to set the Christmas table? Here are some tricks, examples and ideas to copy.
1. Choose the color palette you want to use for your Christmas table
Both traditional colors; red, green, gold and silver and original and alternative combinations are good: however, it is essential to take care of their harmony, combining colors in a balanced way and finding the right combination between the main colors, of the tablecloth and plates and others by size: napkins, glasses, spoons, forks, knives, serving plates and centerpieces.
For those who focus on the classics
The table in shades of red, green and gold, lots of tartan and details created especially for the occasion, from the decoration on the napkin holder to the holder, from the serving plates to the centerpieces and with a decorative mix of mistletoe, candelabra and candles .
For those who want to amaze with original combinations
Christmas is not all white, red and green, and for those with a taste for color matching, setting the Christmas table can be extremely creative, original and fun.
In the photo above an example of how gold, pink, red and blue can create a very elegant and welcoming table.
2. Start with the tablecloth
It is no longer necessary to set a good tablecloth to set an elegant table. Indeed, if you have a nice table, you can focus on a raw place in which the plates rest directly on the surface and maybe cover a part in the middle of the table to serve plates and bottles. Follow the example in the picture above.
While choosing a Christmas tablecloth will allow you to use more classic dishes.
3. Choose the dishes
To set the Christmas table, remember that nothing is excessive and that every detail should be taken care of. Tablecloths and napkins, but above all plates, small plates and panettone or cake plates available in 12 colours, each decorated with a special Christmas motif, from a snowy Christmas village to a bright lantern, from animals fairy tales to "Merry Christmas" writings.
The choice of dishes is as basic as that of the tablecloth, because they will be among the main protagonists.
In general, the more classic and/or neutral the tablecloth, the more original the dishes can be, but nothing stops you from making more original combinations.
4. Don't forget the centerpiece
Big and protagonist as in the picture above, made with Christmas stars. The Christmas centerpiece can consist of flowers, berries, fresh or dried twigs and painted in the colors that best match our table, pine trees, candles and Christmas balls, as well as Christmas balls.
But for those who want to be filled with the Christmas spirit, decorated pine branches along the center of the table, strings of LED lights or decorations that imitate those of the tree are also great.
Whether you choose a classic, modern or rustic centerpiece, pay attention to its height, which should not prevent people from interacting with each other.
5. It's time to fill your Christmas table with details
Candles, LED lights, centerpieces, themed objects from Santa Clauses to lighted trees, to acorns, berry sprigs or fake snow, to themed mugs to enjoy something warm on the couch while you open presents.
If in doubt between set or remove, choose set. And don't forget the details, such as personalized place cards, perhaps made of pine and twigs to add your name, napkin holders or special folds for cloth napkins. (A2 Televizion)
