Not all jobs are for everyone, especially when it comes to jobs that require extreme courage. Kevin Schmidt is one of those people who has chosen an unusual profession: he changes a light bulb twice a year and is paid 40 thousand euros for it. The reason? The dizzying height of 450 meters at which he performs this task.
Such telecommunications towers are not only for signal transmission, but also have a vital function for air traffic. The lamps placed on top of them serve as a light signal for aircraft to avoid collisions. In this way, Kevin's work is not simply technical, but has a direct impact on air safety.
Climbing to the top of the tower is not easy at all. Kevin uses a safety system with ropes that protects him from falling, climbing step by step. Despite the great danger, he has turned this process into a routine and even sometimes stops to enjoy the views or send a photo to his wife, writes A2 CNN.
Before starting this unusual profession, Kevin worked in fields such as maintenance, inspection and office management. He emphasizes that the job requires great dedication: “You don’t want someone who is just in it for the money. You need someone who works hard.”
This is one of those cases where courage pays well, but it requires more than just pay: it requires passion and responsibility. (A2 Televizion)
