Just one day after being accused of rape, the American rapper Puff Diddy has settled the lawsuit brought by the singer Cassie for rape.
On Friday evening, Diddy, whose real name is Sean Combs, and Casandra Ventura announced via social media posts that they have amicably resolved the matter, but did not provide further details about the agreement.
"I have decided to resolve this issue amicably. I want to thank my family, fans and advocates for their unwavering support," Cassie said in a statement.
The lawsuit filed by the R&B singer alleged that the rapper controlled and abused Cassie for more than a decade by driving her to take drugs and forcing her to have sex with male prostitutes.
The pair met in 2005 when she was 19 and broke up in 2018. The lawsuit alleges that shortly before their relationship ended, he forced his way into her home and raped her.
