Taylor Swift has been named Person of the Year by TIME magazine.
The pop star, whose massive tour earned her billionaire status this year, left behind Vladimir Putin, "Barbie" and Sam Altman.
Last year, it was Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and "Spirit of Ukraine" who topped the list, as they grabbed the headlines around the world following the Russian invasion of the country.
"Electing a person who represents eight billion of them on the planet is not an easy task. We made a choice that represents joy. Someone who is bringing light to the world," said Sam Jacobs, the magazine's editor-in-chief, on an NBC television program.
Time magazine gives the award to "the individual, group or concept that has had the greatest influence in the world throughout the 12 months. (A2 Televizion)
