Nearly four million jobs in South Korea are at risk of being replaced by artificial intelligence in the next two decades, the country's central bank said in a study published Thursday.
The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence has fueled global concern about job losses, increased cyber-attacks and loss of control over systems designed by humans.
New research from the Bank of Korea shows that 3.9 million jobs in South Korea are at risk of being replaced, including those of doctors, lawyers, accountants and chemists.
According to the study, the reason behind this argument is that AI can quickly complete analytical and cognitive tasks. The jobs that have the least risk from this technological advancement are those in the fields of religion, food services and lecturing, according to the study.
However, the Bank of Korea has warned that while artificial intelligence threatens current jobs, it also creates new job opportunities, including those in the field of systems development and maintenance engineering. (A2 Televizion)
