The well-known Japanese company Kawasaki Heavy Industries has presented a rather strange and futuristic concept at the Kansai Expo in Osaka: a four-legged horse-like robot, called Corleo, writes A2 CNN. Although it looks more like a giant wolf than a horse, Corleo is designed to walk on difficult terrain thanks to its independent and movable legs.
This mechanical “beast” runs on a 150cc hydrogen engine, making it a potentially clean alternative for moving in terrain where traditional vehicles cannot go. In a video made largely with CGI effects, we see how Corleo can climb mountains, jump over glaciers and face extreme challenges. But so far, these remain only in the realm of imagination.
A full-size model was on display at the exhibition, which only moves in a limited way, “stretching its legs” slightly. No one has yet been seen riding it, which raises doubts about whether the Corleo will ever go into real production or is simply a technology demonstration.
Despite the lack of full functionality, the idea has sparked a lot of enthusiasm, especially among fans of technology and video games like "Horizon," where animal-shaped cars are a key part of the game world.
Although Corleo is still in its early stages, it represents an impressive example of what technology can bring in the years to come. (A2 Televizion)
