Yesterday in French-speaking Switzerland, a 42-year-old man of Kosovo origin killed his 38-year-old wife. It is suspected that, in addition to a firearm, he also used a grenade. After the horrific crime, the perpetrator set fire to the apartment. Then he committed suicide. He left behind 4 orphaned children.
In mid-March in German-speaking Switzerland, a 60-year-old man of Kosovo origin killed his 55-year-old wife, also of Kosovo origin.
These crimes must not remain statistics!
These crimes should arouse the anger of the Albanian community in Switzerland!
These crimes should alarm the entire community!
Because these crimes are not only taking the lives of innocent women, but are also revealing a primitive mentality of men without a shred of dignity.
We must not remain silent about these crimes!
These crimes must be spoken about publicly!
The debate should focus on protecting women from violent men!
In providing safe spaces for women!
In the destruction of the patriarchal mindset!
In the nonviolent education of boys!
Women's reports of being subjected to violence by idiot men should be taken seriously, not only by institutions!
The situation is alarming and the reaction must be urgent, including from the Albanian community in Switzerland.
While every success of someone in the diaspora, even minimal, is exaggerated and exaggerated by various platforms, crimes against women are quickly forgotten. This must end!
Let's talk openly about the masculine poison among the Albanian community. And by talking and exposing the problem, let's find ways to combat the greatest evil among Albanians today: domestic violence, in fact, the terror of men against women.
