On International Anti-Corruption Day, the United States of America has declared non grata the former deputy prime minister of North Macedonia, Artan Grubi, and the judge of the Court of Appeal of North Macedonia, Enver Bexheti. They are accused of corruption by accepting bribes to undermine the court proceedings related to the criminal conviction of the director of the Security Administration of North Macedonia and Counterintelligence Sasho Mijalkov. As part of this action, the close members of Grub's family have also been appointed.
"Pursuant to Section 7031(c), the State Department publicly charges Artan Grub and Enver Bexheti for their involvement in substantial corruption by accepting bribes to undermine judicial proceedings related to the criminal conviction of Sasho Mijalkov, director of the Security Administration of North Macedonia and Counterintelligence (UBK). Mijalkov was designated in 2022 for substantial corruption under Section 7031(c), and OFAC sanctioned him pursuant to EO 14033. As part of this action, immediate family members of Grub have also been designated," the announcement said. ARAS.
In the list of the Department of State are 14 individuals from different countries of the world, for involvement in corruption, including their close family members.
The State Department is also taking further steps to impose visa restrictions on dozens of individuals pursuant to multiple policies under section 212(a)(3)(C) of the Immigration and Nationality Act. (A2 Televizion)
