The President of Serbia, in a press conference a few minutes ago, emphasized that with the resignation of Prime Minister Vučević, all the students' demands have been met.
"We have also resolved some issues that violate my principles related to pardons. We are satisfied with what we achieved, although we are not naive enough for someone to jump with enthusiasm and say that the demands have been met," said the Serbian president.
Serbian Prime Minister Miloš Vučević resigned on Tuesday after months of mass protests across the country. In his address to the citizens, Vučević said the reason for his resignation was the attack on students that took place last night in Novi Sad in front of the Serbian Progressive Party premises in that city.
"I think that this policy to which I belong, the party that I lead, I have won together with the President of the Republic in all elections since 2012. It must show everyone, more than once, the highest degree of responsibility, it must bring and show new rules of law in Serbian politics, it must show that it is the most responsible, that it is objectively the most responsible, and therefore after this event in Novi Sad, my irrevocable decision is to resign from the position of Prime Minister," said Vučević.
He added that this morning he had a conversation with President Aleksandar Vučić, who accepted his arguments and decision. (A2 Televizion)
